Still Mine!

'They' say it's been written about before... (PPC 25-26)

It occurred to me the other day
that almost anything I write
has more than likely been written about before.
Probably several times over.

Unless writing about AI or some cutting-edge
new scientific something or other,
someone, somewhere has already expressed
their opinion, perspective, or take on whatever it is.

So, therefore, the idea that I, little old me,
is going to have some immaculate and freshly ironed
collection of words reacting to pretty much anything
is probably not going to happen.

Yeah, but. The world will simply
have to deal with it. I am a writer.
It's who I am and what I do.
Maybe been written about before--but it is still mine!
