The Part No One Speaks On

Grief, the feeling of absence of something that once made you whole.

Grief.

The essence of grief, what it really means.
What the feeling really is.
The breakdown feels almost invisible, like no one really notices. The world keeps spinning, and life keeps moving.
It feels almost as if nothing really happened, as if what is going on in your head is a lie.

Even when your head is spinning with thoughts you can't explain and memories you beg yourself to hold onto, you let go.

The voices of the ones you've loved fade and the memories, pictures, ideas, and thoughts you have of them slowly disappear.

The good and the bad times begin to not matter.
Not because they never existed, but because time stops for no one.

Time does not stop because you lost a piece of you and time does not stop just because one person wants to hold on to something that's never coming back.
With time is how things disappear and with time is how what we once loved fades away.

As horrific as it sounds, it's what grief is.

Grief is something no one really wants to face, and with the highs of life we almost forget about the lows.
We almost forget that grief is not a choice, it is a promise.
We almost forget to be grateful and we almost forget what really matters.
We forget and forget and forget until time proves to us what we've been avoiding all along.

All it takes is one call, and the whole world begins to feel like its being ripped in half right in front of your eyes.

But for anyone else, its another day.
Another day that they'll forget how fast grief catches up to everyone,
And another day that they will not show sympathy to the ones it has already caught up to.

For you, it may seem like the world has crumbled.
It may seem that what was once life, was never really there at all.

But for the rest of the world, its just another day. Another day that life keeps moving,
The world keeps spinning, because the breakdown of grief is nothing less than invisible.
