She didn't want to go to the party. She wasn't in the mood.
Well, a pity-party, possibly, where she could cry or brood.
Lemonade and pretty cakes really didn't fill the bill--
If offered the chance, to play darts with cake, she figured, she probably will!

A table, oh, so prettily set, seemed almost an affront,
given the personality of the one she has to confront!
Can't anyone but her see how two-faced she really is?
It hurt to watch her play those games, hurting her friends, especially his.

She smiles, thinking of her present--really a tour de force--
The album with the pictures, which should prompt a sure divorce!
She'd been sneaky but had caught them in moments very wrong--
yeah, there might be some joy, after all, in that birthday song!

She could fake innocence too, you see: it was just a night on the town--
One thing led to another, and that led to them en-wound!
Not for the first time, for sure, not the last.
On second thought this party might just be a blast!
